THE TAOIST MARTIAL ARTS BUNDLE
The key to being able to be confident and kind
To be confident and kind, you also have to have the power to defend yourself so you're not taken advantage of.
This is where the Taoist martial Arts come in
Through daily practice this power to defend yourself develops as an internal force of confidence that can be felt instinctively by others as a result of which others tend to treat you with respect and not encroach on your personal territory.
This confidence gives you the luxury of being able to be kindly and openhearted, rather than guarded and hostile, with all brothers and sisters of the human family. In turn this tends to elicit kindliness and openheartedness in them towards you.
Psychic awareness and protection
This is true of all martial arts in fact from Brazilian jujitsu to straight-ahead Western boxing.
What differentiates the Taoist style is the daily practice of solo shadow-boxing style forms, which not only develop your practical self-defence skills while keeping you fit, healthy, coordinated, balanced, supple, and strong in both body and mind, but also by developing the flow, velocity and intensity of the life-force or chi running through you, which generates a protective psycho-energetic force-field around you, to keep you safe and sound on all levels.
And as well as that practice develops your connection with the spirit informing you and by that grants access to full-spectrum psychic awareness, enabling you to discern between the false and true, so you can accurately read every situation.
Different flavors of the same chi
The Taoist forms mostly fall into three groups, each with many different versions developed organically over the millennia.
These are Tai Chi Chuan – 'supreme ultimate boxing',
Xing Yi Chuan – intention-power boxing, and
Pa Kua Chang – the way of the eight-directional open-palm strike.
They're each different expressions of the same set of underlying principles of movement and self-gathering, each providing a different flavor of chi and avenue into the spiritual realm.
It's common and optimum for a master to be skilled in all three.
What you're getting with this bundle
This series of audio-visual online trainings is a viable way to acquire the skills for yourself or at least to provide the first year or two of the training process for each, without needing to travel or report in to any dojo.
As your instructor, I'm not deluded into imagining myself the Taoist Bruce Lee. Far from it.
But I have been practicing the three arts every day for almost fifty years and been teaching them for 40 years, so I'm not a bad 'place' to start.
These trainings are fairly thorough primers, and relatively easy and fun to learn from.
